As the witches brew and the full moon rises on this eerie Halloween season, we’re wrapping up a month that was supposed to be all treats—but turned into a mixed bag of tricks. “Uptober,” the legendary season of crypto pumps, ghosted us hard this year, breaking a six-year streak of gains and leaving the market in a foggy slump.
Bitcoin kicked off strong, clawing a high near $126,000, only to tumble into the abyss, ending down about 8% from October 1. The price action producing the classic monthly darth maul candle and slicing both sides with lightsaber precision.
Alts? They got buried alive, with wipeouts of 60-80% in some corners, and the whole market shedding over $370 billion faster than a vaporware dev’s Twitter X account after rug-pulling investors and getting doxxed by a vengeful army of the rekt.
But fear not, fellow crypto fiends We’ve got the latest market prices, haunted highlights from the month’s chaos, and a dash of Halloween hex to keep things spirited. Let’s dive into the graveyard shift!
Market Overview:
The Crypto CryptOctober 2025 was no pumpkin spice rally. A black swan event on October 11 wiped billions in a flash, with over $19 billion in leveraged positions liquidated faster than a shady rug pull on a pump and dump DeFi project.
Bitcoin dipped as low as $102,000-104,000 after its peak, hovering around $110,000 by month’s end—up 40% YTD, but a far cry from the historical +22.5% October average.

Stablecoins like USDT and USDC held steady (as expected from these undead anchors), while XRP clawed back with the strongest 24h gain. Dogecoin? Still howling at the moon, but alts overall felt the reaper’s scythe.

- The Great Liquidation Massacre (Oct 10-11): A leverage cascade wiped out 19 billion in a matter of hours. Bitcoin plunged from $122,000 to $104,000, thanks to exchange exploits and low liquidity. Traders got rekt—longs took the brunt at $980 million – nearly a billion USD in liquidations, in one day alone.
- Fed’s Rate Cut (Oct 29-30): The second cut of 2025 (25bps) gave a short-term boost to global markets as well as BTC and ETH, but mixed market reactions left uncertainty brewing. Lower yields and a softer dollar helped, yet crypto volatility remained the same.
- Tariff Terror and Macro Monsters: Trump’s tariff threats rattled nerves, compounding weak tech earnings from Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta. Almost like a mid-cycle reset, with on-chain activity rising but leverage normalizing. Institutional demand? Still strong, with BTC ETF inflows hitting $202 million mid-month.
- Conference Coven: Events like Blockchain Life in Dubai (Oct 28-29) gathered 15,000 people from 130 countries, plus TABConf in Atlanta and others. A reminder that even in a dip, the industry is thriving in certain sectors.
The takeaway? October tested our nerves, but we keep on staxxin and relaxxin.
