Welcome to the December 2024 edition of your monthly newsletter, closing out the year with a roller coaster ride like only the Bitcoin and Crypto experience can provide!

Bitcoin crosses 100k!

Bitcoin $BTC had an exhilarating run in December, breaking through several psychological barriers to hit a new cycle high. After a tumultuous year in 2024, Bitcoin touched a high of over $108,000 on December 18th, influenced by spot ETF inflows, a favorable political climate, and the halving event earlier in the year.

An announcement from the FED on December 18th brought the Fed’s 0.25% rate cut and Powell’s hawkish remarks sent Bitcoin below $100K to $99K, marking its sharpest drop since September. Powell noted, “We’re not allowed to own Bitcoin,” responding to Trump’s strategic Bitcoin reserve pledge.

Despite a brief dip to $92,442, the year-end saw Bitcoin stabilizing around $95,000, showing a remarkable 140% increase for the year.

This performance has solidified Bitcoin’s role as not just a digital currency but a significant asset class that may be soon used to stabilize nation state economies.

We will be watching the price action closely as it develops. Many analysts are still nuclear bullish about bitcoin’s potential to price surge in 2025. As we wait for confirmations, we will let the range form and show us if we are to make new highs or lows in January.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, bitcoin soared to new highs and we are now watching the entire ecosystem for innovative games, systems, networks, and resurgence in user interest!

A final lap around crypto

Altcoins:
Overall 2024 brought about a resurgence of the alt coin (crypto not including bitcoin) market following bitcoin’s rise to new highs. December brought a mixed bag for altcoins however. While some like Dogecoin surged, adding about $45 billion to its market cap, others saw volatile swings. The market seemed to have adopted a “wait and see” approach as we approached the new year, with many anticipating a more defined altcoin season (aka alt season) in 2025.

$ETH Ethereum has not made a new all time high, leaving some asking the question, “Is now the time to buy or is ETH just second best?” It has tested the $4k price barrier 3 times in 2024, maybe 4th time is a charm!? As always we stay in the know of all things crypto and ETH prices have downstream impact on the rest of the alt coin market and the infinite connections to its network.

The total crypto market cap excluding bitcoin tested all time high at 1.6T USD.

DeFi & NFTs:
The DeFi area continued to innovate throughout the year, with platforms like Stacks seeing significant development and adoption. The introduction of sBTC, a Bitcoin-backed token for smart contracts, was a highlight.

The NFT markets struggled in many areas most of the 2024 year. However many markets have also experienced some new interest on specific games and platforms, with new projects and higher engagement from both creators and collectors towards the end of the year. Hopefully a trend that continues if crypto markets continue to warm up.

Regulatory Developments:
With Donald Trump’s administration signaling a more crypto-friendly approach, there’s been a noticeable shift in regulatory attitudes. The SEC’s approval of spot Ethereum ETFs and Bitcoin’s strategic reserve proposals have set a positive tone for the market. Will the momentum yield user friendly adoption and changes to government policy? That question remains to be answered in the 2025 year and beyond.

Looking back and ahead…
The original aim of our Staxx Club community NFT program was to share in the NFT games, communities and experience on WAX network and build value in a community owned NFT experience. In 4 years we have shared thousands of NFTs, games, communities, crypto experiences, networks, events and exclusive content.

Recently we realized that our focus was keeping us from branching out in to other areas of the Bitcoin and crypto community. With the huge success of our cross chain events, partners and experiences we came together and decided its a good time to evaluate how we want to operate going forward. The Staxx Club wants to participate and share more experiences from all corners of the crypto-universe. One of the goals for Goldmann Staxx as an organization has always been to bring people together to build meaningful relationships and products. Real people supporting real things.
