Welcome to the January edition of your monthly newsletter, starting out the year with a bang! This month’s edition will cover all the news, politics, and forecasts for 2025. Buckle up, this year will deliver entertainment and excitement like only our industry can provide!

Bitcoin holds $100k… What’s next!?

Bitcoin Price Surge: After setting a low at $89,000, Bitcoin surged to a new record high, crossing $109,000. This event was spurred in part by President Trump’s executive order on digital assets and favorable policy changes.

In summary, Bitcoin price hovered around $102,000 and settled back in to the current price range before closing the first monthly candle ever over the $100,000 mark.

Bitcoin Price Range for January 2025:
High: $109k
Low: $89k

Market Predictions:
Experts and traders have mixed predictions for Bitcoin’s future in the short term. Some anticipate it reaching $150,000 by Q2 of 2025, even without a strategic reserve in place. Others warn of potential market corrections, suggesting buying opportunities at around $82,000 to $85,000.

As noted, we will continue to watch market structure for indications of the next move. A break out in one direction from its current price range may be an indicator for things to come. While we recognize the current run is from $16k -> $109k, momentum is still very high and inflows in to institutional funds continue to pile up.

Crypto Policy Shifts:
President Trump’s administration has signaled a pro-crypto stance, with an executive order aimed at making the U.S. the “crypto capital of the planet.” This also includes potential legislation for a strategic Bitcoin reserve. However, there are concerns about the implications of such policies, including potential corruption and financial risks.

The Trump official camp launched a meme coin themselves on Solana, breaking records for over 80 billion traded in just a few days. The price launched from $27 to $77 in 24 hours, only to lose steam and make new lows currently trading at $19. This is not a drill, the president of the United States has a meme coin…

SEC Adjustments:
The SEC withdrew an accounting rule (SAB 121) that had previously made institutional crypto adoption more difficult.

This change has been welcomed by the crypto industry, with Goldman Sachs’s CEO expressing readiness to revisit their stance on Bitcoin and crypto ownership.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, bitcoin soared to new highs and we are now watching the entire ecosystem for innovative games, systems, networks, and resurgence in user interest!

What will 2025 bring to the Alt market?

Altcoins:
Overall 2024 brought about a resurgence of the alt coin (crypto not including bitcoin) market following bitcoin’s rise to new highs.

So will we see “Alt season” in 2025 or will Bitcoin’s dominance continue to act like a black hole for liquidity?

Meme coin popularity and hype is at all time highs and now celebrities are looking to cash in while they can. While many of the coin prices are not sustainable and token plans/allocations questionable at best, networks where activity is popular such as SOL – Solana have benefited from the traffic. Some people seem to enjoy the excitement of the pump and dump casino style of rapid gains and losses, so the “pump fun” continues.

In other news however, The Pump.Fun platform, known for enabling the creation and trading of meme coins on the Solana blockchain, is currently embroiled in multiple class-action lawsuits. These lawsuits allege that Pump.Fun has been involved in selling unregistered securities, engaging in pump-and-dump schemes, and neglecting investor protections such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols. More to follow as crypto clashes with tradfi regulations.

$ETH Ethereum has not made a new all time high, why not!?

Historically liquidity flows from Bitcoin in to majors and alts after it has made some sort of top price or range. The lack of this happening could indicate that we are still early in this bull market and Bitcoin’s price has yet to find a top. Its current range at 100k could be a consolidation point for another run up.

The other possibility is that the Alt market simply is not as popular as Bitcoin right now, and that take can certainly be supported with facts. Bitcoin’s institutional adoption hype as well as nation states creating strategic bitcoin reserves are unprecedented events.

The ETH chart shows also us the possibility of ending a 3 year consolidation…

Bullish News for ETH:
World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance (DeFi) project associated with Donald Trump, has been actively acquiring Ethereum (ETH). Recently, they purchased $48 million worth of ETH, bringing their total Ethereum holdings to approximately 57,115 ETH, valued at over $185 million. These purchases have included significant investments on various dates, with notable acquisitions around Trump’s inauguration and other times in January 2025. The project has also been diversifying its Alt portfolio by buying other cryptocurrencies like Chainlink (LINK), Aave (AAVE), and Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).

The Alt market total crypto market cap (excluding bitcoin) tested all time high at 1.6T and is currently hovering at $1.4T USD.

DeFi & NFTs in 2025: A case for optimism

DeFi (Decentralized Finance):

Many analysts note that future of Decentralized Finance is only just beginning to take shape. 3 takeaways and key points to consider:

• Total Value Locked (TVL):
  • DeFi is expected to see a significant increase in TVL (total value locked), with predictions suggesting it could surpass $200 billion by the end of 2025. This growth will be fueled by new utilities, liquidity from tokenized assets, and more robust consumer-facing decentralized applications.
    
• Institutional Adoption:
  • There’s an anticipation of more institutional adoption of DeFi solutions, particularly through tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) which could expand DeFi’s reach into traditional finance markets. Regulatory clarity under a potentially more crypto-friendly administration in the U.S. might accelerate this trend.
    
• Bitcoin Layer-2 Solutions:
  • Bitcoin’s DeFi ecosystem is expected to expand with Layer-2 solutions such as Lightning Network addressing scalability and enabling more DeFi applications on the Bitcoin blockchain. The TVL on Bitcoin L2s could increase exponentially.

The TVL Total value locked in staking across all chains according to DEFI Lama sits around $220 Billion USD.

NFT Market:

An increase in mainstream adoption could be seen as NFTs are integrated into more traditional sectors, enhancing their cultural and historical significance and utility beyond speculative investments.

Recovery and Growth:

After an extreme downturn, shake out and bear market winter, the NFT market is projected to rebound, with trading volumes returning by the end of 2025. This recovery could be driven by projects focusing on sustainability and tokenizing existing game economies.

Integration and Utility:

NFTs will likely evolve from collectibles to assets with real-world utility, particularly in gaming and virtual economies. Looking ahead, platforms that can cater to all systems and users as well as support micro-transactions are expected to play a significant role in this sector.

Ongoing Regulatory Developments:

With Donald Trump’s administration signaling a more crypto-friendly approach, there’s been a noticeable shift in regulatory attitudes. The SEC’s approval of spot Ethereum ETFs and Bitcoin’s strategic reserve proposals have set a positive tone for the market.

Will the momentum yield user friendly adoption and changes to government policy?
– That question remains to be answered in the 2025 year and beyond.

STAXX CLUB NFT Holders – Exclusive drop buyout program

The November STAXX CLUB exclusive community airdrop for all participating STAXX CLUB NFT holders was a huge success. We gave out 5000 SATOSHIs (.00005 bitcoin $5 USD) to participating club NFT holders that decided to take the bitcoin bounty! STAXX CLUB creating new bitcoin holders and spreading adoption like only we can! This was a super fun activity and will be one to remember as $5 USD equals 5000 Satoshi!

Will 1 satoshi equal 1 US dollar someday? We will find out!

In December 2024 we proceeded to give market price (400 WAX) of the NFT back to holders who signed up! This was our way of starting fresh with a new year and re-focusing on the importance of creating products that meet the needs of our members. We have plenty of surpsises in store for eligible club NFT holders in 2025 so keep an eye out for more information in our social channels!

Looking back and ahead…
The original aim of our Staxx Club community NFT program was to share in the NFT games, communities and experience on WAX network and build value in a community owned NFT experience. In 4 years we have shared thousands of NFTs, games, communities, crypto experiences, networks, events and exclusive content.

Recently we realized that our focus was keeping us from branching out in to other areas of the Bitcoin and crypto community. With the huge success of our cross chain events, partners and experiences we came together and decided its a good time to evaluate how we want to operate going forward. The Staxx Club wants to participate and share more experiences from all corners of the crypto-universe. One of the goals for Goldmann Staxx as an organization has always been to bring people together to build meaningful relationships and products. Real people supporting real things.

The final December airdrop is our way of celebrating these historic months in crypto together and sunsetting our Club NFT monthly airdrop in a historic way. A new chapter opens with the freedom to use resources as we see fit across all chains and communities going forward.
